who´s who in 200 years of history





This is a special Project we prepared for our english classes to celebrate the 200 years of May, 25 th the MAY REVOLUTION/la REVOLUCION DE MAYO, the start of our war of Independence that finished on JULY9th,1816 with the declaration of Independence.

We asked people to mention the most important people in different fields, like science,arts,media,etc; so at the end we could prepare a Who's who list

Martín Miguel de Güemes (8 February 1785 – 17 June 1821) was a military leader and popular caudillo who defended northwestern Argentina from the Spanish during the Argentine War of Independence.

Domingo French (November 21, 1774 – June 4, 1825) was an Argentine revolutionary who took part in the May Revolution and the Argentine War of Independence.

Adrián Kirzner Schwartz, better known as Adrián Suar (born March 25, 1968 in Queens, New York, USA) is an Argentine former actor, and a current media producer and businessman, better known as the programme director of Canal 13.

Martha Argerich (born June 5, 1941) is an Argentine concert pianist. Her aversion to the press and publicity has resulted in her remaining out of the limelight for most of her career. Nevertheless she is widely recognized as one of the greatest modern-day pianists.






Lola Mora (17 November 1866 – 7 June 1936) was a sculptor, born in a farm in the province of Salta, Argentina, though generally considered native to Trancas, province of Tucumán, where she was recorded and baptized. She is known today as a rebel and a pioneer of women in her artistic field. Her real name was Dolores Mora Vega.





Julio Bocca (born March 6, 1967) is one of the most important ballet dancers of the later part of the 20th century and arguably the most important Argentine dancer of all time.





Adolfo Bioy Casares (September 15, 1914 – March 8, 1999) was an Argentine fiction writer, journalist, and translator. He was a friend and collaborator with his fellow countryman Jorge Luis Borges, and wrote what many consider one of the best pieces of fantastic fiction, the novella The Invention of Morel
